On chivalry

On August 24, 2024, I had my very own A Star Is Born ✨ moment and first tasted the forbidden fruit that is the world of companionship.

Two years later, I’m still blooming.🌹

My etiquette policy is simple: I expect to be treated excellently and with the utmost courtesy. And some of you gentlemen have not only understood the assignment; you have absolutely nailed it and earned an A+++ from me. 💋 Knowing how to properly court a lady never goes out of style.

I’m an unapologetic romantic. I grew up on Disney, devoured my fair share of steamy romance novels, and have always had a weakness for a man who knows how to take charge—with confidence, enthusiasm, and enough passion to leave me breathless. Good sex matters to me—a lot.

But I also like to fancy myself a bit of a Jane Austen heroine: a lady receiving a procession of suitors, each hoping to distinguish himself from the rest. And naturally, I reserve the right to decide who earns the privilege of enjoying my company.

Over the past two years, I’ve been spoiled in the loveliest of ways: dinners shared over wonderful conversation, flowers simply because, book recommendations introducing me to authors I might otherwise have missed, and handwritten notes that brought a smile to my face. I’ve even received gourmet coffee beans, making my mornings considerably more delightful.

None of these gestures were extravagant. But that’s the thing about romance: the little things are rarely little when they are done with intention.

Romance isn’t necessarily about grand declarations or sweeping gestures worthy of a movie ending. Sometimes it’s remembering what someone likes. Sometimes it’s noticing an opportunity to make her day just a little sweeter—and taking it.

I’m an independent woman, perfectly capable of taking care of myself. But I love having one little corner of my life where I can surrender that role.

Where I can soften.

Where I can let someone else take the lead.

Where I can be pampered, spoiled, pursued, and adored.

I still believe in chivalry. And I am still looking for my Mr. Darcy.

The one who remembers to bring me a souvenir from Italy.

The one who understands that seduction begins long before the bedroom.

And the one who knows exactly how to make me forget my manners once the door closes. 💋

There is no charm equal to tenderness of heart.
